There's nothing wrong with communism if it is an honest attempt to implement it as Marx intended. They aren't actually capable of discussing or understanding the philosophical underpinnings of human society. For example why do we consider it normal and proper for a person to draw a square around a bunch of trees and rocks, and all the dirt under them, and declare himself to be the owner?

 

Well, it's not just about property rights. I think the more important and current problem is the financial system, for example. Taxes, welfare, the way our growth-based economy works (or doesn't work, rather).

Actually, it's all about property rights and how we define them. We draw a line between private property and public property, along with some stuff that's sort of in between. The financial system, taxes, welfare, all of it are based on the rules we created to allow someone to own a tree.

 

That's true, but who cares about him? Can't we just discuss it among reasonable people? I mean, so what if his intention was to paint people in a certain light; let him try. In the meantime, talking seriously about the topic might actually be worthwhile.
