Transformers 3 Set Report, Megan Fox’s Jonah Hex Surname, And Green Lantern Logo Revealed

Transformers 3 already has multiple armies, a trip to the Moon, and someone named Matt. Megan Fox’s Jonah Hex character has an oddly familiar surname. Green Lantern accidentally unveils its logo. Plus Hot Tub Time Machine, Lost, Caprica, and more!

Transformers 3:

The first set report is in for Michael Bay’s latest robot opus. There were clothing racks for various military characters, apparently the “Iranian Army” and the “Ukrainian Army.” (That seems like an utterly random pairing, but we’ll roll with it.) There was also a costume rack for a character called Matt. The snoop also reports:

There’s some big stuff being built here, man. One end of the soundstage had some wooden structures. Another area they were chopping away at styrofoam to create a rocky terrain. And the crew was rolling along something that looked like a giant gear. I breezed on by the “model” shop and, while I couldn’t get a good look inside, there were a lot of moon reference photos and NASA moon lander pics. I could have sworn I saw a Transformer, again, didn’t get a good look.

There are also pictures from the set. [Transformers Live Action Movie Blog]

Also, Michael Bay has made it clear that the movie has to shoot in 2D to meet its July 2011 release date, but he’s also unequivocally against a post-production conversion to 3D.

Jonah Hex:

The solicitation for a mini-bust of Megan Fox’s character reveals her last name for the first time. Intriguingly, she’s apparently Laila Hex, which means she’s either Jonah’s sister (unlikely, considering they spend time together in bed), his estranged wife… or this is just a mistake on DC’s part. Hot Tub Time Machine:

A new clip has been released that finds Rob Corddry and Craig Robinson discussing how they can take advantage of being stuck in the 1980s.[Cinemablend]

Green Lantern:

The set of this movie is just teeming with mildly interesting clues. For instance, here’s a look at the movie’s logo from the back of a chair, along with some more general art for the movie. [SpoilerTV-Movies]

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse:

A new poster is out, talking about how things apparently begin with making choices. And why not?

Toy Story 3:

Pixar has put out descriptions introducing us to two of the film’s new toys, a hedgehog named Mr. Pricklepants (voiced by Timothy Dalton) and a doll named…um, Dolly (voiced by Bonnie Hunt). The blurbs are meant to sound like they were written by the toys’ in-universe makers:

Mr. Pricklepants is a charming hedgehog and the ideal partner for your favorite forest. This hedgehog with its green leather hose comes from the quality Waldfreunde collection and were directly imported from Germany. He may look like there are prickly, but he is made out of down so you can cuddle a lot. Drag your fingers through his hair to the spines back in order after the wash.

Dolly is a friendly rag doll and the perfect gift for every child. She has purple hair, big eyes, rosy cheeks and her soft little body and radiant smile make her one irresistible family. She comes with a beautiful blue dress, but with the included fabrics you can build a unique outfit for her.

Nightmare on Elm Street:

Three new promos have been released for the upcoming remake starring Jackie Earle Haley. The promos take the form of fake commercials that are then interrupted by Freddy Krueger. [ShockTillYouDrop]

Scream 4:

The long-delayed third sequel to 1996’s Scream has finally gotten the green light. Wes Craven is back to direct, and Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courteney Cox Arquette are all set to return alongside new, younger cast members. [ShockTillYouDrop]

Red State:

Speaking of long-mooted horror films, Kevin Smith’s next film is definitely going to be Red State, according to the director himself. Smith has previously described the movie as not just a slasher flick, but instead more of an unsettling, disturbing type of horror. [ShockTillYouDrop]

FlashForward:

A bunch of new promos are up for episode 1.13, “Blowback”:

Caprica:

There’s tons of stuff for this week’s midseason finale “End of the Line.” First up, a brief synopsis:

Barnabas escalates his war with Clarice and Zoe tries a daring escape. Daniel sets a deadline to reset the Cylon, forcing Zoe to find a way to save herself; Barnabas clashes with Clarice, with Lacy caught in the middle; Daniel makes a confession to Amanda.

And there are some promo pics.[SpoilerTV]

Doctor Who:

The BBC has released a new image of the Doctor’s companion Amy Pond. It doesn’t look all that different from what we’ve seen before, but for some reason I’m not too bothered.[Den of Geek]

Ashes to Ashes:

A bunch of new images have been released for the upcoming series three:

Also, in a recent interview, series cocreator and writer Matthew Graham explained a little bit of the fallout from the end of the second series, which found Alex Drake seemingly awake in 2008, albeit now also stuck in a coma in 1982:

Yes, we do go back to ’83. Yes, the show isn’t going to take place in 2008. But, and I hope that people don’t feel it’s too much of a cheat, but it’s not going to be Gene Hunt coming forward in the 21st century. I think that’d be a bad move, and it really wouldn’t work. There will be people thinking that we’ve created an artificial cliffhanger, but we haven’t. Because the things that Alex learned and her experiences in the first 10-15 minutes of the new series are the kickstart to the entire series. They are threads that are very front and centre.

Graham also addressed how Gene Hunt’s growing comprehension that Alex (and Sam Tyler before her) really are time travelers will affect him:

I think the journey you’ll see, I’d say denial features very heavily in Gene in series three. But revelations come eventually. You’re not going to see a Gene up front who walks in and says, ‘I get it now.’

He also promised about 95% of the mysteries set up by Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes will ultimately be revealed. [Den of Geek]

Lost:

Pictures have surfaced showing Michael Emerson injured on set. Reports suggest he was filming a fight scene with Desmond’s stunt double when he was accidentally punched for real, leaving him with a black eye.

Here are a few set photos for episode 6.16:

Here’s the first sneak peek for next week’s episode 6.10, “The Package”:

A brief synopsis has been released for next week’s episode:

Sun and Jin desperately continue their search for one another, and Locke confronts his enemy.

And here’s another description of the same episode that was found on the British channel SkyOne:

Light is shed in an episode centered on Jin and Sun Kwon, the recently revealed candidates.

And here’s a Canadian promo for the next episode:

Also, Zuleikha Robinson revealed Ilana’s last name is Radzinsky. At least, she’s fairly sure that’s what it is.

Finally, there’s a metric ton of new cast photos. [Doc Arzt’s Lost Blog]
