A guy I have played with for over five years called the other day and has syphilis. I am bisexual but do not disclose it to my girl friends. I am in a very satisfying three year live in relationship with her. I went and got tested and I do not have any STD. But it really scared me and was very concerned on how to disclose it to my gf if positive. It was three days of angst until I tested negative. There really is no way to protect yourself except monogamy. I am thinking of going that way. I am old and have lived a sexy life and maybe do not need more. What do you others think? Do you profile your hook ups, ask questions and hope for the best? If this has happened to you, did you stop completely or start back up having sex with multiple partners? How soon? What precautions can you really take? If you read the literature, monogamy and abstinence are the only sure way not get an STD?

 

first of all use a condom, number two ask your friend of 5 years how he got it. it sounds like he is involved with other people which should scare the hell out of you. an STD is nothing to play with, it is very serious.

 

I have found that if you make friends with a few people you then have a trust worthy sexual partner to have sex with if you're scared about it then you have two choices either stop what you are doing or change the way you find a playmate I had a problem like that too it wasn't any STDs but a terrible jock itch from his bed I was truly upset about it because he gave me the best fuck I ever had absolutely amazing in bed I talked to him about it and he said he didn't seem to have that problem we were sexual partners for a very long time too

 

Yes a condom will prevent you from getting one but if your like me I love it bareback and natural feeling

 

I feel bad for her. Do her a favor, leave her and let her go find a real man and you can find a girl that likes males that have sex with males. Anyways condoms and don't put dicks in your mouth. That should keep the STDs away

 

If you have multiple partners or are poly then you should get tested regularly and be honest with your partners!

Practice safe sex and maybe try to be more choosy with who you sleep with. Other than that, if you have sex. Getting a sexual transmitted disease is always a possibility. Which is why it's encouraged that people use dental dams for oral sex.

It’s possible to get or transmit STD's through oral sex as well.

Someone actually answered a post of mine the other day by saying that STD's were now a thing of the past (or something similar) well, this proves otherwise!

 

I had the same a guy called me to say he had just tested positive and was infected with Syphilis. We had natural (bareback) sex a couple of times and he said he had a cut on his penis. I was tested negative about a week later, but in six weeks I had all the sympoms. An immediate test may not be 100% accurate as it my case.
I no longer have sex with my partner, but I do have casual sex. I self test and go to a sexual health walk in centre every six months. I have never used protection for oral sex, and fuck both ways about 50/50 natural/encased. You will catch STIs from time to time so either warn your partner or abstain. No point asking as most people don't accurately know their status as the tests rely on antibodies which can take weeks to appear.

I don't bareback EVER, but I do have unprotected oral. I get tested every 3 months with a basic postal kit, every other time (so once every six months) I go to the clinic for a full screen.

If a condom breaks or I feel my risk has increased for a reason I will go to the clinic more often - they're great in there and my local clinic always gives me a few boxes of Skyns condoms which are my preferred brand.

Ultimately you do what you can to reduce your risk but the risk is still there. It's not "safe" sex but it is "safer" sex.

I go to adult bookstores and use condoms for oral sex. Most guys don't care. Some refuse and then so do I.

 

Both, really. I have received without wearing a condom but I've never given oral to an unprotected cock.

 

Over the years I've opted for 69, rather than vaginal, I like it and Felt if not safe, but maybe safer. And prefer professional as they aren't usually seeking vaginal but instead working, Back in the day, the 50s, I had a touch of it in the Army. Eventually went to hand jobs, rather than use a condom for oral, and for the convenience and safety, but still when getting HJ I do perform oral on her, when they allow.

 

I keep to a circle of people I think I can trust and stay safe. Impulse control for me is hard so I fight urges all the time. I’ve had two scares, a pregnancy scare and a pregnancy so I have to work hard at it.
